Friends of the UCSC Arboretum Board Application

The Friends of the UC Santa Cruz Arboretum (Friends) Board is a group of between 9 and 15 members of the organization who support the staff to carry out research, conservation and public education activities. Friends focus primarily on public education, fundraising, special events, programming, and enhancing the visitor experience. Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • Be passionate about the mission of the UC Santa Cruz Arboretum.
  • Professional experience with leadership accomplishments in business, government, education, or the nonprofit sector.
  • Excellent diplomatic skills, ability to cultivate relationships and build consensus among diverse individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability in at least one of the following: Marketing and public relations; Fundraising; Special events organization; Retail management; Education
